The client is one of the leading manufacturing industries in the supply of food-grade disposable packaging productsand has been serving the food service and HoReCa segments with over 1,000 food-grade disposable products of exceptionally high standards of hygiene, quality, and durability from their in-house facilities. The client recently experienced a period of rapid growth and needed a solution to help manage operational challenges.

Challenges

The client faced several operational challenges that hindered their manufacturing efficiency and overall business processes:

  1. Complex Manufacturing Workflow: Managing manufacturing orders, work orders, and job entries manually was time-consuming and prone to errors.
  2. Lack of Custom Reports: The company required detailed reports on material consumption, stock traceability, product movement, and manufacturing efficiency, which were not readily available in their previous system.
  3. Inefficient Inventory Management: The client struggled with inventory control, including managing raw materials, finished goods, and preventing negative stock balances.
  4. Manual Sales and Delivery Planning: Their processes for sales history, delivery planning, and material requests lacked automation, causing delays and mismanagement.
  5. Employee Shift and Payroll Management: Managing employee shifts, biometric attendance, and payroll manually led to inefficiencies.
  6. Financial Integration: The lack of integration with Tally for accounting and difficulties in managing vendor payments and overdue customer orders created financial management bottlenecks.
  7. Quality Control and Reporting Gaps: The company required automated quality control processes and comprehensive reporting across sales, manufacturing, and inventory.

Solution

  1. Customized Manufacturing Workflow: We tailored Odoo’s Manufacturing Module to create a custom flow for managing manufacturing orders, work orders, and job entries, streamlining the entire process.
  2. Comprehensive Reports: In Odoo custom reports were developed, including Materials Consumption, Stock Traceability, Product Movement, and MRP Efficiency reports, providing the client with complete visibility into their manufacturing and inventory operations.
  3. Inventory and Stock Management: The system was set up to manage raw materials and finished products efficiently, with custom dashboards for inventory insights and negative stock movement restrictions to prevent stock discrepancies.
  4. Sales and Delivery Automation:  The client’s sales processes were enhanced with Sales Summary and Sales History reports, along with Delivery Planning automation. Material requests, purchase orders, and delivery schedules were automated for better control.
  5. Employee Management Automation: The Shifts Module was configured for managing employee shifts, and a Biometric Attendance System was integrated to track attendance accurately. HRMS was set up for payroll and salary structure management.
  6. Tally Integration and Financial Controls: Odoo’s Accounting Module was integrated with Tally to automate financial reporting and provide seamless management of vendor payments and sales orders. The system also restricted unapproved deliveries and overdue customer orders.
  7. Enhanced Quality Control: A QC Label Wizard was implemented to improve quality control, and PDF Reports were added for better traceability in production and sales.
